Drama Camp for Kids

We are pleased to launch a mini drama camp . The program will be led by local resident and drama educator with the Mayo Performing Arts Center, Lauren Mills. Funding for the program has been made possible in part by Morris Arts through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The drama camp open to all middle school students residing in Boonton, and is free of charge. Registrants must commit to participating in all sessions scheduled.

You do not need any drama experience to join the program, but if if you have some experience, that’s fine too!

Under the direction of Lauren Mills, the participants will meet 56 Sundays, starting November 17 2024, and will practice a short play to be performed on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Boonton Holmes Public Library. Props and costume teams will meet the same days to create sets and costumes for the play.

Participants may choose to join one of four teams:

  • Actors (8-10 team members)
  • Props design (4-6 team members)
  • Costume design (4-6 team members)
  • Stage management (2-3 team members)
